Our flagship program, Girls Link Up, provides a comprehensive approach to social-emotional learning, academic support,and mentorship for girls. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Program Officer | Primary Education. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program management and leadership within a non-profit organization.
About the Role:
The Program Officer | Primary Education plays a pivotal role in leading and managing our successful programs for students in grades 3-5. This position requires a passionate and experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to creating positive outcomes for youth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead program planning and execution:
- Oversee all aspects of program delivery for Girls Link Up After-School Programming, Community-Based After-School Initiatives, Math Stars Weekly Tutorials, and Girls Link Up on the Weekends (3rd-5th grade programs).
- Collaborate with program staff to develop engaging lesson plans and activities aligned with curriculum goals.
- Secure necessary resources and materials to support program implementation.
Data-driven decision making:
- Track and analyze program data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure programs consistently meet established goals and benchmarks.
- Utilize data analysis to inform program development and strategic planning.
Program Management Excellence:
- Develop and implement efficient and effective program management systems to streamline operations.
- Oversee program budgets and manage resources effectively.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven program evaluation.
Professional Development & Leadership:
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to program staff to enhance program quality and impact.
- Mentor and coach new Program Facilitators and interns through site evaluations and individual or group coaching sessions.
- Share your expertise as a Youth Development professional with content knowledge in social, emotional, cognitive,and physical needs of young people.
Strategic Planning & Collaboration:
- Partner with leadership to develop long-term program goals and strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure program alignment with the organization’s overall mission.
- Contribute to grant proposals and fundraising initiatives to secure program funding.
Girls Link Up Programs:
- Math Stars Weekly Tutorial: Weekly Math tutorial program that works to increase fluency of basic arithmetic and other operations for performing mathematical simplifications.
- Girls Link Up on the Weekends: A monthly series of weekend events to build community amongst girls and create additional opportunities for girls to belong.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with elementary and middle school students in program development,implementation, or management.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and delivery, aligned with social-emotional learning (SEL) principles.
- Strong understanding of STEAM education and its relevance to girls’ development.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Data analysis proficiency utilizing spreadsheets and data management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills to support and develop program staff.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all girls.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) hybrid schedule; times and dates may vary depending upon extended community outreach initiatives and weekend events.
Salary & Benefits:
- $45,000 annually
