Timeline
On May 16, 2012 – 3D Girls, Inc. was incorporated in the state of Georgia as a nonprofit organization with a mission of supporting girls through mentorship. The program started with eight girls who were affectionately called the “First Class”.
L.E.A.G.U.E. served as 3D Girls, Inc.’s initial school-based mentoring program that stood for Ladies Empowering Adolescent Girls Using Exposure. Over time the program acronym morphed into our mentoring program’s core elements of Leadership, Empowerment, Attitude, Glam, Uniqueness and Entrepreneurship.
The T.E.A.M. Project launched in 2016 under through a collaborative project under the inspiration of Ms. Mary Mitchell. (Discovering Realities in Painting and STE(A)M was a fundraising and leadership initiative launched in 2017 that used STEAM focused content to empower youth to explore creativity, build positive relationships, communication skills, and social emotional awareness. 3D Girls, Inc. went through a rebranding and development phase relaunching with a new Board of Directors, volunteer focus and programming.
The onset of the COVID-19 outbreak caused 3D Girls, Inc. to pivot our work to center and support families of young women and girls who had been economically and emotionally impacted by the pandemic. Through emergency efforts, we served over 1,000 individuals between 2020-2021.
In the fall of 2021, 3D Girls, Inc. launched the plans for The Rose House.
