3D Girls, Inc. successfully hosted its 2nd Annual Girls Link Up Pitch Competition on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at the Junior Achievement Discovery Center. This exciting event brought together young female entrepreneurs from across metro-Atlanta, showcasing their innovative ideas and business dreams.The Girls Link Up Pitch Competition is designed to empower young girls (grades 3rd-8th by providing them with the resources and support needed to turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. Participants receive mentorship and guidance over the course of our four week summer camp in business development, marketing, and branding, allowing them to refine their business plans and hone their pitching skills. “We are incredibly proud of the young women who participated in this year’s competition,” stated Raioni Madison, of 3D Girls, Inc. “Their passion, creativity, and dedication were truly inspiring. This program is crucial in fostering the next generation of female leaders and entrepreneurs, and we are committed to providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed.”The competition featured pitches from a diverse group of girl-preneuers addressing various challenges and solutions. The judges, were comprised of prominent business professionals and community leaders, selected the winners based on the originality of their ideas, the viability of their business models, and their passion and presentation skills.
2023 Girls Link Up Pitch Competition Winners
Senior Competition (6th-8th graders)
1st Place Winner – Madison is the 12 year old CEO & Founder of Suga Sweetz. She created her business based on her love for candy and hoping to make an impact on other young girls as well as creating diversity in the business world. Madison started off making $100 a month in sales and has now tripled that number! As her business expands, so will the need for things like business packaging, a deep freezer, wholesale products, labels, containers, etc. She won a prize of a $300 gift card to purchase a mini deep freezer to store her goodies! 2nd Place Winner – Carmen W. is a 11 year old honor student and illustrator who is looking to start her own company that helps connect book writers with illustrators. Her mission is to make it easier for book writers to get drawings for their books as well as helping illustrators display their skills. She is looking to invest into a professional logo design and a website to be able to market her business.Carmen is a 11 year old honor student and illustrator who is looking to start her own company that helps connect book writers with illustrators. She is looking to invest into a professional logo design and a website to be able to market her business.
3rd Place Winner – This summer we met Honesty V. , a 13-year-old girl who loves crafting and designing nails. She’s had a passion for crafting nails for a long time and loves doing nails because she can express my creativity and uplift others. During her pitch, Honesty shared that she wants to attend a teen professional nail course. With her prize, she’s able to invest more into her dreams.
Junior Competition (3rd-5th Graders)
1st Place Winner – Lizzy’s Bakery is owned by Elizabeth H. Her heart and joy is in the kitchen making amazing sweet treats with her mother and grandmother. Elizabeth wants to turn her passion into a thriving business that will serve many people! She won a prize of a $300 gift card to help contribute to her business inventory and marketing needs!
2nd Place Winner – Teresa wowed our judges with her energetic and passionate presentation. Her mission is to provide quality paintings at affordable prices while giving back to the community. As a young entrepreneur, she is passionate about creating beautiful spaces for people to enjoy, and believes everyone should have access to beautiful paintings without going over budget! She used her prize money to purchase art supplies to keep her inspired to create!
3rd Place Winner – Blake R. is the 10 years old owner and founder for Blake’s Pup-sitting. Her business has been around since June of 2022. Her mission is to care and to nurture your dog’s mind- one dog, one person, one walk at a time. Creating a warm and furry feeling for my pups and clients. Blake used her winnings to invest in treats, toys and other goodies for her pup-friends.
Eligibility Requirements:Application is open to girls participating in our Girls Link Up Summer Camp Program living in the state of Georgia who have an entrepreneurial focus in one of the following areas:
Social Change
STEAM
Health & Beauty
There are two levels of participation: Junior Level (grades 3rd-5th) & Senior Level (6th-9th)
Participants must submit a 2 minute introduction video about their business and the problem that they are solving.
Videos should be moderately produced on a cell phone or handheld video device.
